Coldplay sell out, add second date, sell out again
Posted by Gav under music
Right, well, that’s that done so.
Tickets for Coldplay’s Dec 21st date at the o2 went on sale at 9am; by 9.06am looking for any one isolated ticket was unsuccessful - in layman’s terms, it was sold out.
Of course, they went and added their second date - the next Night, Monday 22nd - to the website at 9.06am, and that one was gone by 9.10am.
So not one, but two dates sold out in ten minutes; 34,000 tickets quickly snapped up; and at a cost of €61.15 (including handling fee) each, each, MCD and Ticketmaster seem to be earning €12,474,600 an hour.
Nice work if you can get it. Expect much moaning on Jim’s Blog later this morning.

It’s amazing what gets OTR readers riled - I would say the blog will be in meltdown on Thursday morning with moans about the “hassle” (ie 5 minute wait) to get in to see Tom Waits on Wednesday night. It’s like Liveline without the jingles
