In Need Of Education In The Rain…

Sorry for my reasonable absence from the blogosphere in recent days; work got a little busy and there was much to do at home in the evening to get around to doing a proper update. Not that I have very much to tell, but that’s how it goes.
Anyway, greetings from a rainy Dublin; Ciara, having [...]

Me and Michelle, BFFs…

I think I just vommed a little. In my inbox:
Ciara –
Barack likes to tell a story about the two of us standing backstage before his speech at the 2004 Democratic Convention.
The way he tells it, he was too busy in the days before the convention to feel any pressure — but about an hour before [...]

Throw me a freakin’ moan here, people

My delayed (sorry Darragh, thanks for the tag!) contribution to the irritable cause…
1. List two things that irritate you for a reason, and list the reason, and two things that irritate you for no apparent reason whatsoever
2. Give credit to the person who tagged you
3. Link your answers to the original blog, Skillett.com
4. Tag four [...]

Getting My Goat meme

I think this is the first time either of us have actually been tagged in a meme - chalk it down, the momentous date!
Anyway, we’ve been tagged by Darragh to participate in the Getting Your Goat meme, which has the following rules:
1. List two things that irritate you for a reason, and list the reason, [...]

An explanation upon my return…

Hello, nice people of the intraweb…
Firstly, I’m really better, and starting to feel human again. Finally. I was, in a word, riddled. Exhaustion really kicked in and my immune system packed its bags, leaving me with a pounding head, vertigo-type dizziness, a septic throat, a Dylan Moran ‘dippy tummy’ and an ear infection of [...]

Coldplay sell out, add second date, sell out again

Right, well, that’s that done so.
Tickets for Coldplay’s Dec 21st date at the o2 went on sale at 9am; by 9.06am looking for any one isolated ticket was unsuccessful - in layman’s terms, it was sold out.
Of course, they went and added their second date - the next Night, Monday 22nd - to the website [...]

The only thing worse than being called “Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii”

…is the photo that went with the news story in RTE this morning.
Consider the case of nine-year-old K from New Zealand. Or, at least, that’s how her friends know her - that’s how she introduces herself, her actual moniker being “Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii”.
A New Zealand judge has ordered a name change for [...]

A beginner’s guide to installing Wordpress on your own domain

Inspired by Darragh’s recent masterclass on how to leave comments on other peoples’ blogs, and guiding Scally through the following process yesterday, I thought I’d post a guide on a similar theme to Darragh’s - how to get your own webspace and install Wordpress on your website.
Though there are a couple of other downable blogging [...]

/excitement
** Edit, Friday 25th July @ 9.18am: They sold the first date in six minutes; added a [...]
