Well, you can ban Manhunt, but…

Ian O’Doherty gets it, as per usual, pretty much on the button. From yesterday’s Indo.
Ban it. For God’s sake, ban it now
Computer games like Manhunt and Fall Of Man have come in for stern criticism in recent weeks.
Politicians, activists and even our own normally sensible censor have been jerking their knees in frantic fashion about the violent impact that these games can have on our precious, tiny little minds.
So are they planning on banning the board game Yahtzee as well?
This follows the news that Mark Allen (49) was playing the dice game with his neighbour Edith Elliot (47) in Tampa, Florida, when they began to argue over a move Allen had made.
A few minutes later, presumably driven insane by the violent and amoral overtones of the game, Allen stabbed his neighbour to death.
Must we allow our vulnerable middle-aged citizens to play such sick games?
I sincerely think not.
I mean, Jesus. I’ve had fist-fights with my brother over him (or me) cheating in chess. Lock me up and throw away the key, huh?
