Frankly, this deserves an update.
So; I moved back up in Dublin last night (those who didn’t notice my extended absence will have been unaware that I’d spent the last couple of weeks commuting to work; helping lift boxes between three houses in Meath - past, present and future abodes of my parents; sneezing something awful and generally trapping my sciatic nerve *again*), to move in with Barry on the Goatstown Road. It’s weird how you can end up literally just sitting around having meaningful chats for hours on end sometimes. Obviously I’m not going to divulge the contents but I think we both felt a little better for having had the opportunity to vent.
So this morning I got up especially early because it was my first day trying to get to work but not knowing the best way to do it. I caught the 11 as far as the Leeson Street bridge and walked along the canal to work. Just my luck, having gotten the bus at 7:40am (just to be sure - I’m one of those anal types who hates to be late for anything), I made work by 8:23am. And that even included having walked into (literally) a revolving door for the as-yet-empty-but-identical building beside the offices. Pfft.
Wootage for me; I had the foresight to launch myTunes when I got into the office. There were only four people online but by the time I left the desk at 9:30 there were already about thirty users - and 50,000 songs - waiting there, and because myTunes had been running, I had access to any open libraries. Hence, having spent all of Friday trying in vain to see if anyone in the building had bought the new Keane album (no luck) and wondering whether I should finally utilise ye newe Credite Carde, and then this morning, I was offered a mailed copy to review for cluas.com - and moments later, it shows up on myTunes.
Some people have all the selective luck. I’ll give it a listen later and share my thoughts on it soon.
PS - Bell x1 sold out in Galway literally JUST before I was about to buy. Nyeh…
